Moving agreement

This is the agreement you accept when you book a move online. Your booking confirmation records the version above, and that version always resolves to this page.

1. Who you are contracting with

Your move is performed by the moving company whose site you booked on — an independent business with its own name, license, and insurance. That company is your counterparty for the move and for any claim arising from it.

Jeneum provides the booking, dispatch, and payment software the company runs on. Jeneum is not a moving company, does not perform moves, and is not a party to this agreement.

2. Your price

Companies on Jeneum quote in one of two ways, shown on your price screen.

Hourly

Flat price

Charges that appear in both

Your quote screen itemizes everything above. Nothing that is not on it is charged, except as described in section 5.

3. How long a quote lasts

A quote is held for 7 days from the moment it is generated. After that it expires and you will need a new one; prices and availability may have changed.

4. Your date and arrival window

5. What can change the price on moving day

A quote is built from what you told us. The final amount can differ if the job differs — most commonly:

The crew will tell you before doing work that changes your price. If you do not agree to the change, you may stop the job and pay for the work already performed.

6. Deposits

Some companies collect a deposit at booking; some do not. If yours does, the amount is shown before you pay, and:

Your booking is confirmed when the deposit is paid. If no deposit is required, it is confirmed when you sign.

7. Paying for the move

8. Loss and damage

Unless you have arranged and paid for additional coveragein writing with the moving company before your move, your goods are carried at the released value of60 cents per pound per article. This is a valuation limit, not insurance: a damaged 10-pound item is settled at $6.00 regardless of what it cost or what it is worth to you.

Claims for loss or damage are made to the moving company, against its coverage. Jeneum does not adjudicate, settle, or insure them.

9. Cancelling or rescheduling

Cancellation and rescheduling terms — including whether a deposit is refundable and any notice required — are set by the moving company, not by Jeneum. Contact the company directly and as early as you can; its phone number is on the site you booked from.

Where a refund is due, it is issued by the moving company through the original payment method.

10. Your signature and your copy

Booking captures your typed name and the signature you draw, together with the date and this version number. The moving company keeps that record for the life of its account so the signed agreement can be produced if there is ever a dispute. To request a copy, contact the moving company.

11. Text messages

The moving company may text you about your booking — confirmations, arrival updates, and the like. Message and data rates may apply. ReplySTOP to any message to stop messages from that company's number.

12. About this version

This is agreement version 2026-08-v1. When the terms change, a new version is published at its own address and new bookings are signed against it — this page stays exactly as it is, because bookings were signed against these words. Every published version is listed on thelegal documents index.
